A. O. Smith Offers More Solar Options in Residential Water Heating.

Water Heater Manufacturer Introduces an Expanded Line of Solar Thermal Water Heating Systems. More and more, homeowners are looking for "greener" options in all aspects of their lives, including residential water heating. In response to this growing trend A. O. Smith (www.hotwater.com) has expanded its Cirrex® solar thermal water heating product line.

The innovative solar water heating system is now available in 16 package systems to meet a wide variety of consumer applications. With this system, up to 70 percent of the energy needed for a home's water heating can be captured from the sun, meaning the Cirrex can significantly reduce operating costs.

Contractors will appreciate the simplicity of the Cirrex, which is an all-in-one system for easy specification and installation. A. O. Smith provides all of the components, so contractors have one point of contact for all of their product support, sales, and service needs.

Homeowners can rest assured they're getting one of the industry's most advanced solar thermal systems available on the market today. The solar thermal collectors are much more effective at capturing energy from the sun compared with traditional photovoltaic solar panels, and they do it at a fraction of the cost. The larger the tank and number of panels incorporated into the system, the more effectively the Cirrex can capture energy from the sun.

The Cirrex system is OG- 300 by the Solar Rating and Certification Corporation (SRCC) and eligible for a federal tax credit of 30 percent of the total installed cost with no maximum. Additional state and local incentives may also be available. Check with the local power provider for details. "For homeowners who care about saving energy and lower utility bills, the Cirrex product line is a great solution" said David Chisolm, brand manager for A. O. Smith Water Products Company. "With the new Cirrex system, we are proving once again that A. O. Smith is the innovation leader for the water heating industry."
