HVAC INDUSTRY NEWS
NATE_to_honor_RSES_members as Top Techs During HVAC Comfortech 2009.

Three members of RSES will be recognized as North American Technician Excellence “Top Techs” during HVAC Comfortech on Sept. 23-26, 2009 in Nashville, Tenn.

The three RSES members include Thomas F. Bush, of the Southwestern Virginia Chapter, Abingdon, Va.; John Drye, of the Mont-Shire Chapter, Lebanon, N.H.; and Keith Kane, of the Missouri Valley Chapter, Omaha, Neb.

Bush of HCE Systems Inc., Norton, Va., has approximately 40 years of experience in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration industry. Bush enjoys the challenging nature of his profession. “The HVACR field does not set limits on what a technician can do. A technician sets limits for himself by what he is willing to learn. That is what I like about the HVACR business,” explained Bush.

Bush has been a member of RSES since 2006. When asked why he joined RSES, Bush responded, “Through their publications, training materials and local Chapters, RSES is the best source for continuing education and training. This is the reason I became a member of RSES and I have not been disappointed. I encourage all HVACR technicians to join RSES and to be active in their local Chapter.”

Drye of M.J. Hayward Mechanical Electrical Services Inc., West Lebanon, N.H., has been in the commercial HVACR business for three and a half years. He enjoys the HVACR industry because it’s challenging and, most importantly, different every day.

Drye has been a member of RSES since 2008. When asked how RSES membership has benefited him, he explained that the RSES eLearning courses, in particular the Electricity for the HVACR Technician eLearning online course, allowed him to fit studying for the test into his busy schedule while earning NATE continuing education hours.

Kane of Thermal Services Inc., Omaha, Neb., has been in the HVACR industry for more than 23 years. When asked what has made him stay in the HVACR industry for so long, he said, “I enjoy working on equipment, helping people and the new challenges.”

Kane has been a member of RSES since 1992. He believes that RSES has a tremendous amount of training material for individuals as well as company training. He commented: “The RSES eLearning program is beneficial to technicians that are just starting off in the HVACR industry.”

According to NATE, to be honored as a Top Tech the technician: must be a practicing technician in the field; must hold NATE’s senior certification (Efficiency Analyst); and must hold at least four other NATE certifications.

RSES will recognize each member Top Techs’ achievement and continued support publicly during HVAC Comfortech’s Thursday Evening Extravaganza at the Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville, Tenn. In addition, RSES hold a drawing for all five Top Techs on Thursday during the event for a chance to win two round-trip tickets (for one winner only) to anywhere American Airlines flies in the continental United States and Mexico.

RSES is the world's leading education, training and certification association for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration professionals. RSES credentials include its Active Specialized Member, Certificate Member and Certificate Member Specialist categories, as well as one of the largest EPA Section 608 certification programs in the industry. Founded in 1933, RSES is a non-profit organization of more than 15,000 members in 209 chapters in the U.S. and Canada, as well as affiliate organizations worldwide.
