Plumbing Jobs are Everywhere, but Where are All the Skilled Plumbers?

Each year there are more Plumbers that retire or just leave the industry to pursue other career paths than there are new people entering the trade. With the demand for skilled Plumbers now outpacing the supply, compensation levels are expected to increase as employers continue to get more aggressive in their recruiting strategies.

(PRWEB) According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the demand for experienced Plumbers (Fire Sprinklerfitters, Pipefitter, Gasfitters and Steamfitters) is likely to increase by 10 – 20% over the next seven years. Based on the labor statistics from 2002, an additional 110,000 Plumbers could be needed by the year 2012.

Each year there are more Plumbers that retire or just leave the industry to pursue other career paths than there are new people entering the trade. With the demand for skilled Plumbers now outpacing the supply, compensation levels are expected to increase as employers continue to get more aggressive in their recruiting strategies. There simply aren’t enough people to fill all the available plumbing jobs. Passive forms of advertising such as an employment ad in the local newspaper, job posting on a career site or a help wanted sign on the back of your trucks simply aren’t enough to attract new employees, and hiring a professional recruiter to track down skilled workers just isn’t within the budget for most companies.

So what can Plumbing, Piping and Fire Suppression companies do to find the key people they need to hire?

BAND TOGETHER with the help of Plumbing Agent! Officially launched in early November, Plumbing Agent is already helping hundreds of Plumbing, Piping and Fire Suppression companies across the United States and will essentially become the recruiting department for thousands more within the next few months. By helping these employers to “Band Together” as a group, Plumbing Agent provides these companies with the same recruiting resources as any Fortune 500 company would have; including an ever growing employment advertising budget and a dedicated staff to not only manage the recruitment advertising efforts, but to also do the initial evaluation of each potential applicant based on the employers plumbing job requirements. In the evaluation process, Plumbing Agents staff compares each potential applicants resume/profile to the specific plumbing job requirements to eliminate nearly 60% of those who "Clearly" cannot do the job.

Why Plumbing Agent?

Recruiting experienced Plumbing professionals has become a full-time job and yet very few companies can justify the expense of having a full-time recruiter on staff let alone the consistent advertising budget necessary for success. Most Plumbing companies have very limited time and resources, with no dedicated recruiting staff to find experienced employees. It’s typically the Owner/Managers responsibility to not only place the employment ads, but also sift through all the resumes/applications to narrow the stack down to those people they want to talk to. It’s just one more thing to try and get done in their typical 60-80 hour work week.

Plumbing Agent combines the fees paid by all its members to increase the groups’ employment advertising budget and staff necessary to manage it, essentially consolidating the recruiting efforts for everyone. The more employers that join the network, the larger the budget becomes. Through their consistency in advertising online as well as through many traditional non-internet sources, Plumbing Agent uses this budget to locate and attract thousands of experienced applicants for their employers plumbing jobs nationwide.

The recruiting strategies of Plumbing Agent were developed based solely on common sense. Let's say that there are 10 things that each company can do to find the perfect person. For example; a newspaper ad, a job posting on the internet, a sign on the back of a truck, etc…but for whatever reason (money, time, etc...) you're only able to do 1 out of the 10. The odds of finding the person that you need are not very good. But, if you could do 2 out of the 10, your odds would double. Now what if you could do all 10 things? If the perfect person were out there, you'd find them, but only if the timing is right. Once you're doing everything you can to find the right person, you need to repeat those 10 things every day, week or month. You've got to be consistent to get results. It's the goal of the network to consistently utilize every potential resource to locate the people you need to hire, virtually eliminating the need for you to spend any additional money on employment advertising.

So what are the membership fees for employers?

The standard fee to become a member of Plumbing Agent is $1,157 (per location) for the first year, which can be paid in monthly installments of $89/mo with a one-time setup fee of $89.

SAVE 22% during the initial Launch Period - Enroll by December 31, 2005
From now until December 31, 2005, Plumbing employers can enroll in the Plumbing Agent network for just $69/mo with a $69 one-time setup fee ($897 (per location) for the first year). That’s about the cost of ONE or TWO employment ads in a major newspaper or job postings on a major internet career site!!! Plus, there’s NO LIMIT to the number of open plumbing jobs you can list or the amount of applicants you can receive, and NO ADDITIONAL COST for each person you hire. Everything’s included! After the initial term of the agreement, your Plumbing Agent membership will continue on a month-to-month basis at the same $69 monthly rate.

Sure…they can help you find Plumbers, Fire Sprinklerfitters, Gasfitters, Pipefitters, and Drain Cleaners, but they can also help you with Designers, Dispatchers, Drafters, Engineers, Estimators, Field Supervisors, Foremen, General Managers, Installation Managers, Inspectors, Instructors/Trainers, Operations Managers, Project Managers, Purchasing, Sales Managers, Sales Representatives, Service Managers, Steamfitters and Superintendents.

Created by the largest employment resource in the world for the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration industry (HVAC Agent www.hvacagent.com), Plumbing Agent will likely follow in their success becoming the largest employment resource in the Plumbing, Piping and Fire Suppression industries. HVAC Agent started out in late 2001 with only a few members and an annual advertising budget of about $25,000. In less than four years, that budget has reached nearly $500,000 with a dedicated staff of 10 people that now evaluates over 400,000 potential HVACR applicants each year for its employers 2,900 + HVAC jobs.
