From the point of view of the social gross energy consumption, industry, transportation and building are the three major energy consumption fields among which the building energy consumption accounts for one third or more. 

Nowadays, Department of Housing and Urban Construction has released 20 national and industrial standards on building energy saving, the standards have covered the whole country’s different climatic regions and public building design sector. Experts calculate, by the year of 2020, the gross air-conditioning load in summer peak will equal to the generated energy under full load of 10 Three Gorges Plants. In order to decrease the energy consumption, the reform including outer wall warm keeping, window and door, heating and cooling system, thermostat and temperature control valve has to be conducted. All the 40 billion sqm existed building need to be reformed, if each square meter costs 200 yuan, the total will cost 8,000 billion yuan. Moreover, because of the urbanization develops fast, millions square meters new building will be completed every year, so, Chinese building energy-saving market has a great business opportunity and attracts many overseas enterprises and their investment.
