Thomas & Betts appoints new COO, development chief
Thomas & Betts Corp. has made some changes to its management.
The company named Christopher P. Hartmann executive vice president and COO, effective Oct. 2. He is currently president of the company's electrical business.
Hartmann will report to chairman and CEO Dominic J. Pileggi and will be responsible for the company's global business operations, including manufacturing, marketing, sales and distribution. He will continue to lead the company's electrical business until a successor is named.
T & B also named Imad Hajj to the newly created position of chief development officer. Hajj, who currently serves as president of the company's HVAC business, will also report to Pileggi. One of his major responsibilities is to lead the company's merger and acquisition activities.
Based in Memphis, Thomas & Betts (NYSE: TNB) designs and manufactures electrical connectors and components for industrial, commercial, communications and utility markets. The company, which has facilities worldwide, is also a producer of commercial heating units and highly engineered steel structures. In 2005, the company reported $1.7 billion in revenues.
